My very first mother's day

So I just celebrated my first mother's day and hubby surprised me with a wonderful gift...a facial, full body massage and pedi at the Estee Lauder spa. What a wonderful treat!
I had an amazing time. It was so relaxing and much needed. While I was there, the facialist of course convinced me into buying a cleanser and a pore minimizing serum. I was so excited to try out my new cleanser and serum.
Why oh why did I listen to her? My skin feels like sandpaper and I got all these red bumps on the sides of my face (so attractive). I bought the sparkling clean purifying mud cleanser and the idealist pore minimizing skin refinisher. Anyone else have any bad experiences with these products? It dried out my face completely...now I need to fix it. I switched back to my old cleanser, and it's getting better. I use Cindy Crawford's Meaningful Beauty and I like it. Is it the HG of skincare...no, but it's ok (at least on my skin).

These are the evil products that I bought:

Anyone have any great skincare items to recommend?

  1. I just bought the serum after trying a sample size. I actually had the opposite experience -- it has made my skin look amazing. That's how it goes with skincare I guess. Works for some not others.
Example: Clinique's moisture surge -- people love this cream and said it would hydrate my skin. For me - it dried it out and made me break out. Weird eh?

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  2. Ah, I must be one of the lucky ones. It's so sad b/c I so wanted to love it, it smells great. I also dislike Clinique's moisture surge on my skin.
Thanks for being my "first". Love your blog, btw!
